This trip goes through the essentials of East Java! with the visit of Bromo volcanoes (and penanjakan mount) and Kawah Ijen.
Bromo (2200m above sea level), the most visited and most photographed volcano in Indonesia, and not for nothing … it is easily ranked among the top 5 things to see in the world! the landscape is magnificent and out of the ordinary.
Besides the active crater, Bromo also offers the view of the beautiful sunrise from Penanjakan’s point of view (2700m above sea level). Travelers will enjoy a variety of landscapes, from the rainforest to the savannah and the sea of sand, as well as the huge Tengger caldera.
And Kawah Ijen (2386m above sea level), known for its blue flames, sulfur and sulfur porters. It is also famous for its large emerald green acid lake.

Bromo – Kawah Ijen Excursion from Malang and Banyuwangi
We have daily departures with min 2 people and max 5 people:
- From Malang train station at 15:36 (corresponding to the Malioboro Ekspres 94 train from Yogyakarta at 07:45)
- From the port of Ketapang to Banyuwangi at 15:45 (several ferry from Bali gets there more than 2 times per hour)
- From Banyuwangi train station at 15:20 (corresponding to the Mutiara Timur Pagi 87 train from Probolinggo at 11:04)
- From Probolinggo Station at 15:33 (corresponding to train Wijayakusuma 7091 from Banyuwangi at 11:05)

Itinerary of Bromo – Ijen Trip from Malang / Yogyakarta
1st Day
- A car with driver will be waiting for you at Malang Station at 15:36 (corresponding to the Malioboro Ekspres 94 train from Yogyakarta at 07:45) to Rani Homestay in Tumpang where you will spend a short night (journey time 30 min )
2nd Day
- Departure at 1 am in Jeep from Rani Homestay to Mount Penanjakan and Bromo (less than 2h by Jeep)
- At Mount Penanjakan (or King Kong Hill if clouds block the view at the top) your guide will take you a little away from the crowd, it will take a walk of about ten minutes in the forest. Once the sunrise is over, you will descend by Jeep to the Bromo crater.
- At Mount Bromo, you will have about 1 hour walk from the jeep parking to the summit of Bromo if the volcanic activity of Bromo allows (Friday, March 15, 2019 there was emission of ash, which indicates a probable eruption to come)
- Once you have visited Mount Bromo, you will go to Warung Gunung Bromo to have breakfast (which is included in this tour) and then at 8:30 am you will drive to probolinggo station where you will take the train at 11:04 to Banyuwangi .

We realized that the ride was more enjoyable by train, in addition to being faster, safer and more reliable.
- Expected arrival at Banyuwangi at 15:20, and a car with driver will wait for you to drop you off at Banyu Homestay where you will spend the night
3rd Day
- Departure at 1:30 am from Banyu Homestay to Paltuding (at the foot of Kawah Ijen) journey time around 1h30. Then with your guide you will go to the ascent of Kawah Ijen, you will go down in the crater (to try to observe the blue flames if the conditions allow it) then you will go up on the highest edge of the crater to have a point of view of Bali to the east and Raung to the west and down below a view of the largest lake of natural acid (about 3 hours walk round trip).
- Meet at 7:00 am in Paltuding for a departure to Banyu Homestay where you will have breakfast.
- Departure at 9:30 am for Banyuwangi Station and Ketapang – Banyuwangi Port to Bali – (30 min ride)

Itinerary and visit of Ijen – Bromo Trip from Banyuwangi / Bali
1st Day
- A car and driver will meet you at Ketapang (the port of Banyuwangi and Bali ferry dock) starting at 15:45 for the Banyu Homestay or you will spend a short night (journey time 30 minutes). This 15:45 schedule can be changed upon request and according to the possibilities of organization (between 12:00 and 14:00 and between 17:00 and 19:00)
2nd Day
- Departure at 1:30 am from Banyu Homestay to Paltuding (at the foot of Kawah Ijen) journey time around 1h30.
